BIRGUNJ: Sadbhawana Party Chairman Rajendra Mahato burned a copy of newly promulgated Nepal’s Constitution in Parsa district on Monday. Stating that he cannot accept the constitution which failed to integrate and maintain the Madhesi’s rights at any cost, he burned the copy of the constitution at the premises of Narayani Sub-Regional Hospital. “The constitution, in favour of Koirala, Oli and Dahal, promulgated amid violence initiated by the government itself, will never be acceptable to us,” Mahato said. He also stated that the protests would last all day long today. He said he would defy the new constitution for it gives fewer authorities under the federal system to the states than that of the existing District Development Committees. The time has come for a joint all-out protest of the Madhes-based parties to ensure the rights, he opined. Meanwhile, people of Gaur Municipality, Garuda Municipality, Shibanagar, Bhediyahi, Rajpurpharhadwa, PataurA and Maulapur among other places in Rautahat district also burned the Nepal's Constitution 2072 today.
