KATHMANDU: President Ram Baran Yadav on Saturday urged UCPN-Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal to resolve the ongoing turmoil in Tarai through talks. During a meeting held at Sheetal Niwas this morning, President Yadav expressed his concern over the continuing violent protests in Tarai with Dahal, according to Dahal's personal secretary Chudamani Khadka. Dahal, in response, informed the President that the three major political parties have been trying their best to bring the disgruntled parties to the talks table to settle the issues peacefully. Madhes-based parties have been staging demonstrations in various districts of Tarai for the past one-and-a-half months protesting the number and boundaries of provinces in the constitution.
