LALITPUR: Sajha Prakashan, which has a 103 year-long history, is organising its 23rd General Assembly this week after a hiatus of eight years. According to Dolindra Prasad Sharma, general manager and chairperson, Sajha Prakashan Management Committee, the 23rd general assembly will be held on October 3 at its central office in Pulchowk, Lalitpur. Organising a press meet in Lalitpur on Sunday, Sajha Prakashan publicised the election schedule and the date for general assembly. “We are going to conduct election for three out of seven members of the management committee. Thus we have issued a public notice calling all shareholders to attend the assembly with their identity cards,” said Sharma. Other members of the management committee are former education ministers-- Pradeep Nepal and Dinanath Sharma and senior litterateur Prof Krishna Hari Baral. A representative from Janak Education Materials Centre is the ex-officio member of the committee. Sharma stated that they were going to read out the decisions of the previous general assembly and submit a report prepared by the chairperson and publicise by-law of the organisation before the election. Sajha Prakashan has already formed a committee under the coordination of senior litterateur Prof Baral to carry out preparations for the election.
