Kathmandu, September 27 NIC Asia Bank and Nimbus advanced the round of 16 in the Century Bank Corporate Super Sixes here at the Tribhuvan University Stadium today. NIC Asia topped the Pool ‘A’ with four points, while Nimbus finished second with two. Likewise, Civil Bank and Nepal Telecom made it to the pre-quarters from Group ‘B’, while Nabil Bank and Prabhu Bank advanced to the knock out round from Group ‘C’. Also, Sipradi Group and Gorkha Brewery entered the last 16 from Group ‘D’, whereas ICFC Finance and Kantipur Media Group qualified from Group ‘E’. Main sponsors Century Bank topped Group ‘F’, whereas Bank of Kathmandu finished second from the pool. The top two teams each from six groups were joined by four best runners-up — Indian Embassy, Kumari Bank, United Spirits and Sanima Bank — in the round of 16. Out of the 18 teams, Model Global Visas Consultancy and Jyoti Bikash Bank were the only two who failed to make it to the pre-quarters. On Sunday, NIC Asia Bank defeated Nimbus by six wickets, while Nimbus returned to beat United Spirits by nine runs. Civil Bank outplayed Nepal Telecom by five wickets, whereas Prabhu Bank beat Indian Embassy by five wickets. In other matches, Sipradi Group beat Kumari Bank by 10 runs, Civil Bank defeated Model Global Visas by five wickets, Kantipur Media Group registered a three-wicket victory over Jyoti Bikash Bank, Century Bank hammered Sanima Bank by five wickets, Nabil Bank beat Gorkha Brewery by four wickets, and Sipradi Group defeated Prabhu Bank by 14 runs.
