Customs points in Far-West Tarai resume operation

DHANGADHI: While hundreds of cargo vehicles are stranded at Indo-Nepal border points across Tarai districts, two customs points in Kailali and Kanchanpur districts have resumed normal operations. There is no obstruction at Trinagar customs point in Kailali and Gaddachauki in Kanchanpur for cargo vehicles to enter Nepal, according to customs officials. As many as 15 vehicles entered Nepal via Trinagar customs point on Thursday. Of them, two were diesel tankers, one of petrol and one of aviation fuel, according to Information Officer at the Nepal Oil Corporation Regional Office, Shivaran Bhandari. The NOC said as many as 19 fuel tankers were sent to India for refilling while nine of them have already returned. Meanwhile, local traders are approaching nearby markets on the other side of the border including Gauriphanta, Banbasa and Paliya market areas for their Dashain shopping
