MUSTANG: To increase visits of tourists to lower Mustang, a new trekking route has been stated in Mustang district, from Friday. The 50-kilometre alternative route from Muktinath to Pairathapla is being operated in coordination with the Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP), District Development Committee of Mustang and other local conservation management committees. The trail construction was complete in five years with an investment of Rs 600,000. The development of motorable roads has decreased visits and stays of tourists in lower Mustang, of late. Out of 12 most popular tourist destinations of Nepal, three places are from the district, according to ACAP Senior Ranger Suresh Thapa.
