Kathmandu, July 5:

Tourism Minister, Buddhi Raj Bajracharya, on behalf of Himalaya Guide Nepal Treks and Expeditions and Samasti Nepal, felicitated Anil Bhattarai, the first Brahmin mountaineer to have scaled Mt Everest. He was also awarded Rs 125,000. Bhattarai recently scaled the world’s highest peak from the Northern side with a British expedition team. He placed Hindu’s holy book Geeta and janai (sacred thread) on the peak and brought it back.
