The Kathmandu Valley Town Development Committee (KVTDC) organised a seminar today to discuss how the long-term development concept of Kathmandu Valley could be effectively implemented here.

Presenting a paper, leader of the study team for the identification of concerned actors and preparation of detailed work plan for concept implementation, Dr Sunil Babu Shrestha, said the concept suggested two strategies for equal and identical development of the Valley to conserve environment and a long-lasting economic development.

With increasing population and encroachment of cultivable land, Dr Shrestha said the government should move towards ‘Food Green City’ in order to avoid possible food shortage in the Valley.
