Govt forms five-member team to hold talks with agitating parties

KATHMANDU: The government on Monday formed a five-member team to hold talks with disgruntled political forces which have been carrying out protests against the Constitution in various districts of Tarai. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs Kamal Thapa heads the team and it comprises of Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Agni Prasad Kharel; Minister for General Administration Rekha Sharma; and Minister without Portfolio Ram Janam Chaudhary as members on behalf of the government. The Rastriya Samachar Samiti reported that a representative of the main opposition Nepali Congress would be included in the team. A Cabinet meeting held today made the decision to this effect.
