DAO clamps indefinite curfew in Birgunj after violent clashes

BIRGUNJ: The Parsa District Administration Office clamped an indefinite curfew in Birgunj after violent clashes erupted between protesters and police. The curfew, which would come into effect from 3 pm today, would last till the next notice. Earlier, a protester was killed while more than two dozen were injured in various clashes in Birgunj after police used force to open the blocked Indo-Nepal border point this morning. According to Chief District Officer Keshav Raj Ghimire, the curfew-clamped areas include Shankaracharya Gate, Inarwa, Bypass, New Bus Park, Power House Chok, Radhemai, Adarshanagar and Chhapkaiya.
