UML fails to pick ministers, again

  Kathmandu, November 2 Standing Committee meeting of the ruling CPN-UML todayfailed to finalise the names of ministers from the party yet again. According to secretary of the party’s central secretariat Krishna Gopal Shrestha, the standing committee meeting scheduled for Tuesday would finalise the names. Shrestha said today’s meeting discussed the dialogue between Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi over telephone. The meeting has expressed grief over the death of an Indian national when police opened fire at protesters in Birgunj today. However, the meeting has also taken the involvement of foreigners in Nepal’s protests as a serious matter, claiming it had further deteriorated the situation in the country. Meanwhile, Rastriya Prajatantra Party Nepal has finalized the name of its ministries from the party after consulting with Prime Minister K P Sharma Oli today. Party Chairman Kamal Thapa has already joined the government as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Ram Kumar Subba as minister without portfolio. Minister Subba would be given Ministry of Land Reforms while Bikram Bahadur Thapa would be given the portfolio of state minister.
