PHIDIM: A stray dog bit as many as five persons in Phidim of Panchthar on Monday morning. The dog bit the locals randomly while they were walking on the road at around 7:00 am. Of them, critically injured Som Lal Dhakal and Bikram Nepali of Phidim were admitted to Panchthar Hospital and have been receiving treatment. Sources at the hospital said the remaining three —Lok Prasad Shrestha, Devi Maya Thapa and Indra Sangroula — returned home after receiving treatment at the hospital. Police said that the dog has also bit five pigs. Earlier, the municipality and VDCs of the district had killed the stray dogs.
