Lamjung, November 8 District Education Office Lamjung has decided to take action against government school teachers if they do not improve their performance. A meeting of District Education Committee led by DEO Gyan Mani Nepal took the decision to punish unruly teachers, saying the performance of the government schools had declined even as their teachers were better-trained. DEO Nepal argued that public schools’ performance could improve if only the teachers mend their ways. “The meeting has decided to punish teachers who do not carry out their duties diligently,” said DEO Nepal. The teachers who fail to perform will be warned to improve their performance by school inspector/resource persons up to three times. If they still do not improve their performance, teachers will be punished as per the recommendation of school management committee.
