HETAUDA: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Local Development, Kamal Thapa, on Sunday said that the government is doing homework to strike an all-party consensus to hold the elections of local bodies as soon as possible. Speaking at a programme organised by the Hetauda Sub Metropolitan City in Hetauda, DPM Thapa said that the government is committed to implement federalism as per people's wish through the elections. Saying that resources of the government alone cannot develop the city and equip it with new technology, Thapa urged for impartial allocation of available resources at local level towards that end. Likewise, Sudesh Pokharel, executive officer at the sub metropolis, said that urban dwellers are facing shortage of various facilities like water, road and electricity among others.
