MAHOTTARI: Cadres of the agitating United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) on Tuesday torched three motorcycles with Indian number plate, saying the motorcycles were used for smuggling in petroleum products. The cadres brought the motorcycles under control from Gaindabhetpur yesterday night and set them on fire. Superintendent of Police at the District Police office, Mahottari, Janak Bhattarai, said although three motorcycles were found burnt far from the village, the number of the motorcycles as well as the identity of the owners have not been ascertained yet. Nobody has been arrested so far in this connection as the incident took place during the night, according to the District Police Office, Mahottari. Police suspect that the cadres might have torched the motorcycles for being used in smuggling petrol from Indian markets.
