Pokhara, November 18 Saraswoti Upadhaya of Pokhara bagged an international award for a short video on the impact and mitigating measures of climate change. She was honoured with the award as her video was found to be the best among 133 presentations of youths ranging between 18 to 30 years across the world. Saraswoti had submitted her short video online with the title “Who is Growing Tomorrow’s Food?” Her video covers the visualisation of the impacts of irregular rainfall on agriculture and how agricultural production can be increased with the use of modern technology. Upadhyay will represent Nepal at the Asian Irrigation Forum on January 16 next year. She will be making a 15-minute presentation about the impact of climate change on agriculture sector. Her video was judged the best among 133 participants from 66 countries across the world at the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change two weeks ago. She has also introduced some pragmatic measures to mitigate the impacts of climate change. In her three-minute video, she has used canvas bag instead of plastic, public vehicles instead of private and bicycle instead of motorbike.
