Beijing, July 16:
The US House of Representatives has rejected a measure that would have imposed penalties on European firms selling weapons technology to China. The East Asia Security bill has failed to garner the two-thirds majority needed for its passage after US business groups expressed fear that the measure might hurt them, reports Xinhua. Congressional officials said after the vote that the bill’s author would make a second attempt to get the bill passed next week. The bill welcomed the deferment of an EU decision to terminate an arms embargo on China.
