11 injured in cooking gas explosion in Rautahat

RAUTAHAT: At least 11 people were injured when a cooking gas cylinder exploded in Garuda bazaar of Rautahat on Tuesday. The injured were identified as Punya Dev Prasad Sah (40) of Bariyapur-3, Gagan Dev Sah (62) of Jigadiya-4, Ramchandra Pal (60), Shailenra Sah (39) of Pothayahi, Siya Sundar Raut (45), Surya Narayan Sah (65) and Parikchyan Rai Yadav (65) of Mahamadpur, Samahur Dewan (45) of Paltuwa, Shahid Miya (30) of Pothiyahi, Gudu Kumar Yadav (25) of Ghodasahan and Sihanti Devi (50). Among them, Sihanti Devi is severely injured, Area Police Office, Garuda, informed. Sihanti has been referred to Bharatpur Medical College after receiving primary treatment. The cylinder exploded amid a busy market that takes place every Tuesday and Saturday. However, who brought the cylinder and the reason behind the explosion is yet to be ascertained, police said.
