3 held for selling fuel at higher rates

KATHMANDU: Three persons were arrested on charge of selling fuel at higher prices, from different parts of Kathmandu, on Friday. Lalit Kumar Mandal (29) and Dhiren Kumar Mandal (15) from Tripur-7 of Sunsari district were detained while they were selling petrol and diesel illegally in front of the Motherland Hospital, Pepsicola, KMC-35. Police confiscated 80 litere petrol and 200 litre diesel from them. Police informed that they were selling petrol and diesel for Rs 280 and Rs 180 respectively for a litre. In a similar case, Devraj Regmi (38) from Madhesa-2 of Sunsari district and Govinda Acharya (25) from Sangkoshi-8 of Dhading district were arrested while selling petrol in Ghattekulo, KMC-32, on Friday. Police confiscated 135 litres of fuel from them. Investigations into both cases are underway.
