Rally seeks end to Madhes unrest through talks

KATHMANDU: A rally was organised on Saturday from local Maitighar Mandala to New Baneshwor, demanding an end to the ongoing Madhes agitation through dialogues. Former Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai led the procession arranged by the Citizen Network. Participants of the event demanded an immediate end to the Madhes unrest, fulfillment of basis needs of the earthquake victims, formation of National Reconstruction Authority, a stop to the misuse of public property, an end to black marketing and smooth supply of daily essentials. The objective of organising the procession was to remind the government of its responsibility towards the people and create pressure for resolving the current political problems as soon as possible, the organising body said. Former Minister Hisila Yami, UCPN-Maoist Vice-Chair Narayan Kaji Shrestha, Nepal Sadbhawana Party General Secretary Manish Lal Suman, columnist Khagendra Sangraula and political analyst CK Lal among others joining the rally.
