Big III conspiring to break up country: Yadav

Biratnagar, November 29 Federal Socialist Forum Nepal Chairman Upendra Yadav today accused the Nepali Congress, CPN-UML and UCPN-Maoists of hatching a conspiracy to disintegrate the country. Addressing a mass protest rally held in Biratnagar, Yadav claimed that Unified Democratic Madhehsi Front’s agitation was for national unification. He held that nationalism would not be strengthened by denying the Madheshi people their rights. “Rule by a single community cannot strengthen nationalism,” Yadav said. He charged that the constitution had bypassed Madhes and Madhesi people. Yadav said that they were in favour of settling the issues of demarcation, constituency delineation and fully proportional representation through dialogue and negotiations. “The government has not changed an inch. The dialogue is not going to yield results, but we are not going to tire of the agitation,” Yadav added. At the programme, Sadbhawana Party Chairman Rajendra Mahato said that Tarai agitation was for the rights of Madhesi people. He said people raising the issue of human rights caused by blockade and agitation had failed to see rights abuse when security forces shot down agitators. He complained that the government had failed to listen to them even when they had blocked the supply of foodstuffs and other essentials. “We have been staging a sit-in to block the supply of goods at the border point, but the government is not listening to our grievances,” Mahato added. Similarly, Tarai Madhes Sadbhawana Party Chairman Mahendra Ray Yadav held that the ongoing Tarai agitation would be final. He remarked that federalism without rights was not acceptable to them. Tarai Madhes Democratic Party General Secretary Sarbendranath Sukla said that it was not possible to suppress the Madhes agitation by threatening to deploy the army.
