Cases of VAW decrease in Dang

TULSIPUR: Registration of cases of domestic violence against women (VAW) in police office has gone done in Dang district. The District Police Office, Dang, said that a total of 19 cases of domestic violence against women were registered so far in the current fiscal year. Chief of Dang Police Kuber Kadayat said that 16 cases were settled in the police office while three others were sent to the District Court. Kadayat added that 30 cases of domestic violence against women were registered during the review period in the last fiscal year. Kadayat argued that rise in women’s educational attainment, increased consciousness level in the society and the programmes launched in different times to raise awareness of the commoners have contributed to the better result in regard to VAW.
