KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) youth leader and central member Gagan Thapa has stressed the need to give way out to the protracted Madhes unrest, in the capital on Wednesday. Addressing a pressure-creating rally organised by NC today, leader Thapa urged the government to immediately address the Madhes agitation and pave the way for national development by addressing the demands of Madhes at the earliest. The Constitution is an all-encompassing document, said Thapa, pointing at the government's failure to take out the constitutional provisions to the people at the grassroots. Leader Thapa also drew the government's attention to protect the lives of innocent Nepali people by bringing the agitating parties to consensus. He noted that the current situation has halted educational learning of the students. He blamed the government for promoting black marketing taking advantage of the Indian blockade and the Tarai unrest, instead of taking measures to stop it. Though India has deprived Nepal's right to trade transit sans any reason, Nepali people would face the problem without losing own stance and confidence, he asserted. NC Kathmandu President Bhimsen Das Pradhan said that the agitation launched by some of the parties in Tarai has moved the country to regression. 'The government should put its efforts seriously to address people's demands. The Tarai agitation has flared up with the government ignoring the agenda and keeping itself busy in expanding ministries', he noted. Speaking at the occasion, NC lawmaker duo Rajya Laxmi Shrestha and Dhyan Govinda Ranjit suggested the government to come up with a concrete proposal to address the recent problems of the country and warned to launch pressure-creating events across the country.
