KATHMANDU: Major three political parties—Nepali Congress, CPN-UML and UCPM-Maoist—are holding a meeting at Prime Minister's residence in Baluwatar to prepare for talks with the agitating United Democratic Madhesi Front. Senior leaders of the parties have attended the meeting. The government, the NC and the UDMF are holding a meeting this evening to find an outlet to the ongoing agitation in Tarai. The tripartite meeting which was scheduled for Wednesday was postponed for today by Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli after he was informed that the agitating parties had assigned their second-rung leaders for the talks. The UDMF has been protesting for more than three months in Tarai-Madhes region demanding amendments in the new Constitution including the issue of provincial boundaries. Earlier this afternoon, the ruling CPN-UML had decided to advance the Constituent Amendment Bill registered by the eastwhile NC-led government in order the settle the ongoing agitating in Tarai.
