Tripartite talks fail to produce concrete results, to resume after Delhi parleys

KATHMANDU: A meeting among the ruling coalition, the main opposition Nepali Congress and the agitating United Democratic Madhesi Front did not produce any concrete results on Saturday as well. The parties had held the tripartite talks in a bid to end the ongoing Tarai-Madhes agitation and give a consensual way-out to the ongoing political crisis. After the meeting, the leaders said they would continue with the talks after four top UDMF leaders would return from New Delhi of India. Federal Socialist Forum-Nepal's Upendra Yadav, Tarai Madhes Democratic Party's Mahantha Thakur, Sadbhawana Party's Rajendra Mahato and Tarai Madhes Sadbhawana Party's Mahendra Raya Yadav are scheduled to leave for the Indian Capital tomorrow. Earlier on Friday, major political parties including ruling CPN-UML and UCPN-Maoist and the main opposition NC had drafted a three-point proposal to table during the talks with the Front. The talks, earlier planned for Friday, had not taken place the leaders of the agitating parties did not show up citing the government suppressed their agitation in Nawalpur of Sarlahi. READ ALSO:
