Three major parties discussing to find a political solution to the issues that are being raised with political intention by the CIAA Kathmandu, December 8 Chairman of Unified CPN-Maoist Pushpa Kamal Dahal today said the three major parties are discussing the action taken by the Commission for the Investigation of the Abuse of Authority and calling it ill-timed. Answering a query of one Central Committee member at the ongoing central committee meeting here at Paris Danda today, Dahal said the parties were discussing whether to invite CIAA officials to the Parliament Secretariat or the Parliamentary Party Office to quiz leaders invited by the constitutional body. Dahal told the meeting that he had discussed the CIAA move with NC leaders and Prime Minister K P Sharma Oli. He also said he would further discuss with them again this evening and take necessary decision on the matter. The issue was raised by Central member Bisham Lal Danuwar asking the party leadership about the party’s official opinion regarding the CIAA summons to leaders, including the party’s General Secretary Krishna Bahadur Mahara. Dahal had told the central committee that selection of people for inquiry was the most sensitive and the move was taken at a very adverse time, which had forced the leaders to question the anti-corruption body’s intention. One central member said Dahal told the meeting that the parties were discussing how to find a political solution to the issue being raised with political intention. He, however, did not elaborate what the political solution could be. Asked about consultations regarding the CIAA’s recent move, Prime Minister Oli’s Political Adviser Bishnu Rimal said he was not aware of any discussion between the PM and Dahal as the meeting was held only between the two leaders. Dahal had also told the central committee that the CIAA move was wrong and the commissioners were also not consulted while taking the decision. “Since the letter of the CIAA mentioned ‘request for support’ CIAA employees could also be invited to Parliament Secretariat or the office of the parliamentary party for inquiry,” a central member quoted Dahal as saying.
