Pokhara, December 13 Minister for Forest and Soil Conservation Agni Sapkota today said efforts were under way to ease the supply of essentials, including petroleum products and cooking gas, to the country from India. Talking to the mediapersons in Pokhara, Minister Sapkota said, “Nepali people have been facing a crisis due to ineffective political and diplomatic efforts.” He, however, said that the crisis would end soon. Noting that India was positive about lifting the blockade at border-points, Minister Sapkota said claimed that there was a possibility of the government signing a deal with the agitating Madhes-based parties within two-three days. “Demarcation of the provinces is a complicated issue. So we should resolve the issue taking help from experts,” Sapkota added. Minister Sapkota held that the newly promulgated constitution was not complete and perfect. “We should amend to make it inclusive and accommodating,” he said, adding that the United Democratic Madhesi Front was serious about calling off the agitation sooner than later. Stating that the government would demonstrate utmost flexibility to address the demands of the agitating Madhes-based parties, Sapkota expressed hope that country would soon get a way-out from the current crisis. “We have no choice but to seek out a solution as the blockade has caused a humanitarian crisis in the country, which was already devastated by the deadly earthquakes,” he said, adding that the government would soon table and pass the Bill on Reconstruction Authority and expedite reconstruction of structures destroyed and damaged by the earthquakes.
