3 held for Janakpur temple vandalism during prez visit

JANAKPURDHAM: Police here on Monday have arrested three people for their alleged involvement in vandalising the Janaki Temple during the President Bidya Devi Bhandari's visit to the shrine on Wednesday. The arrested were Sita Sharan Mandal, Rahul Kumar Raut and Ritesh Kumar Raut. Similarly Dhanusha District Police chief Ram Dutta Joshi informed that they were searching for other people involved in the incident. Police have intensified search for the culprits soon after the Council of Ministers' meeting held on Sunday decided to take action against those involved in the vandalism. The United Democratic Madhesi Front cadres on Wednesday had vandalised the historic temple protesting the President's visit. Amid the protests, the Head of the State, however, had visited the Temple to observe the Vivaha Panchami Mahotsav.
