A police team under the Narcotic Drugs Law Enforcement Unit, New Baneshwor has arrested two persons in connection with hiding 145 kg of hashish and five kilograms of oil produced from it.

Those arrested were Pandey alias Puskar, 33, and his younger brother Om Kumar Pandey, 29. The illegal drugs were seized from the empty underground water tank at the house of Uttam Pandey, a resident of Kirtipur Municipality, Ward No 2, Maitri Nagar.

The preliminary investigations have found the duo to be involved in transporting illegal drugs to Khasa in China. According to police, the oil produced from hashish in Nepal is considered to be of best quality and fetches a high price in the international drug market. The police claimed that continuous vigil of the unit made it possible to arrest the culprits.
