KATHMANDU: Nepal APF Club defeated Tribhuvan Army Club 2-0 to win the CoAS third International Women’s Football Tournament here at the Nepali Army Headquarters ground on Sunday. In the final match, Anita Basnet opened the scoring for APF in the 14th minute and Sabitri Bhandari netted another in the 64th minute. APF received Rs 300,000 along with trophy and medals, while TAC got Rs 150,000. TAC’s Anjai Waiba was named the best player of the tournament and she received a scooter. APF dominated the individual awards winning four Ratna Kaji Maharjan (coach), Anjali Subba (goalkeeper), Hira Kumari Bhujel (defender) and Sabitri Bhandari (forward), while TAC’s Dipa Rai was declared the best midfielder. A total of 10 teams five regions, three departmental sides and two from India took part in the tournament. Chief of the Army Staff Gen Rajendra Chhetri handed over the prizes to the winners of the tournament.
