Pokhara, January 3 The preparation for the 14th Aaha-Rara Gold Cup is in full swing, informed the organisers Sahara Club here on Sunday. According to president Bir Bhadra Acharya, the January 19-30 tournament will feature nine teams from Nepal and three foreign clubs. Ruslan Three Star Club, Laxmi Hyundai Manang Marshyangdi Club, Tribhuvan Army Club, Nepal Police Club, Nepal APF Club, hosts Sahara Club, Rumpum Jhapa-XI, Jawalakhel Youth Club and Nawa Jagriti Youth Club of Simara have confirmed their registration. “We are in contact with teams from India, Bhutan and Bangladesh and their conformation will come soon,” Acharya added. Himshree Foods Pvt Ltd is the main sponsor, while Red Bull and Micromax Mobile are co-sponsors of the tournament to be held under the auspices of Pokhara Sub-Metropolis. “The profit of the tournament will be used for the kids at Sahara Academy,” he added. Currently 26 kids from 16 districts are at the Academy. General Secretary of Sahara Club and Member Secretary of the tournament Keshab Raj Baral said lucky winners among the ticket buyers of the final match would be awarded with one-tola gold coin from Sahara Hong Kong and a television set from CG groups. The organisers will distribute a Micromax mobile everyday. Meanwhile, Sahara UK treasurer Narayan Gurung handed over a trophy to president Acharya. The trophy will be awarded to the best player of the tournament.
