KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli pointed out a need to formulate an 'ambitious plan' for development of Karnali region. Speaking at the fourth meeting of the Karnali Institute of Health Sciences, Oli, the Ex-officio Chancellor of the Institute, said the existing plans were not sufficient for development of the region. 'Various mechanisms and organisations should carry out their programmes in the region simultaneously,' Oli said addressing the meeting at his official residence Baluwatar on Wednesday. He also urged concerned officials to focus on the programme than the budget limitations. 'Don't worry about how much budget you need,' he encouraged the officials, 'Formulate ambitious plans and propose them to the ministries.' 'If needed, please come to me. I am always ready to support Karnali.' The Institute was established in Khalanga of Jumla around four years ago to run health education programmes in Jumla, Humla, Mugu, Dolpa, Kalikot, Jjajarkot, Bajhang, Achham and Bajura districts. Currently, 80 students are studying under the Health Assistant and Staff Nurse programmes, according to Administrative Officer Amrit Bhandari.
