MELAMCHI: Bhim Gurung and Sangita Tamang won the Batase Trail Run titles here on Saturday. Gurung of Tribhuvan Army Club completed the 30km distance in two hours 41 minutes and 52 seconds in men’s section, while Tamang clocked three hours 46:32 in women’s category. Dan Bahadur Dhami and Ganesh Thakuri of APF finished in the second and third positions in men’s section, while Anita Tamang came second ahead of Kumari Tamang. Top three finishers of both categories received Rs 15,000, Rs 10,000 and Rs 5,000 respectively. In men’s 20km event, APF’s Laxman Malla Thakuri, Jitendra Rai and Narayan Thapa completed the distance in top three position, while APF’s Sonujaya Rai completed the distance ahead of Batase’ Sapana Tamang and Dolma Lama in women’s section. The top three finishers of each categories received Rs 9,000, Rs 6,000 and Rs 3,000 respectively. In 10km U-15 boys’ section, Lama Om Syangtang, Pradip Giri and Jitu Shrestha were top finishers respectively, while Sunita Tamang, Bibi Maya Tamang and Apsara Chalise came first, second and third positions respectively. Top three of each categories received Rs 3,000, Rs 2,000 and Rs 1,000 respectively.
