Kathmandu, January 18 Baluwatar Cricket Club (BCC) and Great Himalayan Cricket Academy (GHCA) advanced to the semi-finals of the Pran Litchi Drinks first National Inter-club Youth Cricket Championship here at the TU Stadium today. Baluwatar registered a 46-run victory over SS Event Pvt Ltd, while GHCA beat Pulchowk Engineering College by five runs. Batting first, Baluwatar scored 141-8 in 20 overs and packed SS Event for 95 runs in 15.4 overs. Rabin Joshi top scored for Baluwatar with 59 off 41 balls with seven fours and a six, while Sunil Lama and Sonu Tamang scored 16 runs each. Ajay Rajbanshi claimed three wickets for SS Event, while Irshad Ahmed, Ram Naresh Yadhav and Lalit Rajbanshi grabbed a wicket each. In reply, Baluwatar bowlers did not allow SS Events batsmen to settle at the crease and claimed wickets at regular intervals. Dipendra Chaudhary top scored for SS Event with 34 off 31 balls that included three fours and a six, while Subash Khakurel scored 21 off 16 balls with three fours. Eight SS Events batsmen failed to reach double figures. Man-of-the-match Bijay Gautam of Baluwatar finished with the figures of 5-6 in 1.4 overs, while Ritesh Singh and Prashhana Shakya claimed two wickets each and Rohit Poudel took a wicket. In another match, GHCA scored 132-5 in 20 overs and restricted Pulchowk for 127-8 in 20 overs. Rakesh Karn’s unbeaten 47 off 45 balls with a boundaries and two sixes and Pradeep Tandon’s 30 off 25 balls with five fours helped GHCA post competitive total. Astik Sharma and Bibek Koirala took two wickets each for Pulchowk, while Sumant Sah grabbed a wicket. In reply, opener Gaurav Khadka top scored for Pulchowk with 61 off 51 balls that included eight fours and a six but that was not enough to avert the team’s loss. Pankaj Shah made 20 off 32 balls, while other Pulchowk batsmen failed to contribute with the bat. Ashish Pokhrel claimed three wickets, while Prakash Bista took a wicket for GHCA.
