KHOTANG: Service recipients coming to the district headquarters for different services have been hit hard in absence of chiefs of 13 offices in Khotang district. The service seekers are in trouble when 13 offices in the district have functioning been without chiefs for the past two weeks. Service recipients have complained that they have been hit hard when the office chiefs left the district for seminar and trainings while others are on house leave. As some of the office chiefs are from Madhesi origin, they have left the district to join agitation in Madhes, sources claimed. Along with office chiefs, the second and third ranked employees are also absent in the offices for a long. According to the source, Local Development Officer; in-charges of Nepal Electricity Authority, District Education Office, District Health Office, District Technical Office, Nepal Telecom and District Election Office; Planning and Administrative Officer at the District Development Committee and Executive Officer of Diktel municipality have been in outside the district for the past couple of weeks. Likewise, most of the VDC secretaries are also in outside the district.
