KATHMANDU: The Project for Agriculture Commercialisation and Trade (PACT) under the Ministry of Agricultural Development organised training programmes on Integrated Pest Management (IPM). As many as 108 officials of its IPM sub-projects were trained in Dhading, Chitwan and Kavrepalanchok districts. According to Ekantakuna-based PACT Project Implementation Support Team (PRIST) Chief Basudev Sharma, the training was organised on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday in Dhading, Chitwan and Kavrepalanchok respectively. The IPM sub-projects were launched in these three districts. PACT Director Indrakanta Jha said the districts were selected as they were the highest vegetable producers in the nation. The PACT said the training was organised to better manage the sub-projects working with grant assistance from it. PRIST Monitoring and Evaluation Officer Arun Khanal said the training would improve value chains. PACT is a World Bank-funded project run by the MoAD since 2009.
