KATHMANDU: A 28-member team headed by World Taekwondo Federation Dr Chungwon Choue arrived in Kathmandu on Friday. Nepal Taekwondo Association President Prakash Shumsher Rana and General Secretary Deepraj Gurung welcomed the team that included African Taekwondo Union President Ahmed El-Fouly, President of European Taekwondo Union Athanasios Pragalos, President of Oceana Taekwondo Union John Kotsifas, President of Asian Taekwondo Union Kyu Seok Lee, WTF Director General Roger Piarulli, and Advisor Chang Shi Choi among others. This is the first such high profile visit of WTF officials to Nepal. The team met with Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli Friday evening, while they are also scheduled to meet President Bidya Devi Bhandari. The team will leave for Sindhupalchowk on Sunday to distribute relief to earthquake victims, while they will also inspect the venue for the high-altitude poomsae tournament in Pokhara.
