BIRGUNJ: Birgunj entry point, which was opened after 135 days with the initiative of local entrepreneurs of both Nepali and Indian sides on Friday, has resumed normal operations since this morning. The United Democratic Madhesi Front had been protesting in various parts of Tarai since September 24 demanding amendments in the newly adopted constitution including the issue of provincial boundaries. The border point now has no presence of agitators. Sushil Sharma, spokesperson of the Birgunj Customs Office,  said that more than 100 trucks carrying goods have entered the country without any disturbance on Friday night. “There is no disturbance in the check point and the supply of goods has increased,” he informed. Meanwhile, the Nepal Oil Corporation Regional Office informed that dozens of tankers have been sent to Raxual to bring petroleum products on Friday and Saturday.
