Birgunj, February 16 Activists of United Democratic Madhesi Front staged a sit-in protest in front of Narayani Transportation Office in Birgunj, Parsa, today. Accusing the transportation office of imposing fines during the time of Madhes agitation, which was against the spirit of the protest, they staged a sit-in protest from 10:00am to 11:00am. Pradeep Yadav, District Chairman of Federal Socialist Forum-Nepal, argued that the present government was also against them. A meeting of the front, which had agitated for around six months, concluded that the government had imposed the fine to add to the woes of the Tarai people. The front has warned of coming up with new and strong protests if their demands were not addressed. Federal Socialist Forum central Vice-chairman Lal Babu Raut, District Chairman Pradeep Yadav, Tarai Madhes Democratic Party Parsa Vice-chairman Jata Shankar Gupta, Sadbhawana Party central member Nejamudin Samani, among other leaders, staged the sit-in today in the district.
