DPO takes action against 26 erring cops

Chitwan: District Police Office, Chitwan took action against 26 police personnel for violating the code of conduct in the last seven months of the current fiscal. Chief SP Basanta Bahadur Kunwar of District Police Office, Chitwan said the District Police Office had taken the action against one inspector, two sub-inspectors, one assistant sub-inspector, seven head constables and 15 constables. Of the 26 cops, five were suspended while action has been initiated against others, he said. He further informed that action would be taken against anyone who violated police regulations. SP Kunwar said the office had closely watched the personnel after it received complaints that the police personnel were not carrying out their duties responsibly. We have been closely observing their activities from CCTV camera installed in the office, said Kunwar. He said not only the public but the police personnel too would be punished if they are found violating of code of conduct.
