UCPN-Maoist to draw govt attention to performance

KATHMANDU: The Standing Committee of ruling coalition ally UCPN-Maoist on Monday decided to draw the government's attention to performance as the blockade at the Nepal-India border points and the agitation of the Madhesi parties had already ended. Party General Secretary Krishna Bahadur Mahara said after the meeting that the party has also decided to strengthen its support to the government. 'We want the government to be more dynamic and to listen to people more effectively,' he told journalists after the meeting. The meeting of party's powerful Standing Committee decided to hold a discussion on the expansion of the party's state committees on March 3, and entrusted Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal with the authority to expand the committees after March 8 based on the recommendations made by the representatives from all state committees. In yesterday's meeting, Maoist ministers and in-charges of the state committees had presented their reports.
