Bodies of 14 crash victims identified, handed over to kin

Pokhara, February 25 Bodies of 14 persons who died in Tara Air 9N-AHH Twin Otter plane crash at Tirkhe Dhunga of Dana VDC, in Myagdi, on Wednesday morning, were handed over to their kin after identification today. The aircraft crashed while on its way to Jomsom in Mustang soon after it took off from Pokhara airport. According to Gandaki Zonal SSP Mahendra Pokhrel, the bodies of Binita Bhattachan, her two-month-old baby and Krishna Lal Bhattachan were handed over to their relatives in Mustang. Bodies of pilot Roshan Manandhar, co-pilot Dikesh Nemkul and air hostess Uma Raut have been handed over to their kin and sent to Kathmandu, besides the body of Dola Chhiring Sherpa. The bodies of Bal Krishna Neure, Rewati Baral, Raj Kumar Tamang, Kamala Thakali, Mukti Bahadur KC, Kuwaiti national Ralrashed Ahamed and a Nepali minor were also handed over to their kin. Nine bodies are yet to be identified, said DSP Gajusiddhi Bajracharya. There were 23 persons, including three members of the crew, on board the aircraft when it crashed 10 minutes after it took off from Pokhara Airport for Jomsom, Mustang, at 8:00am yesterday. All those on board the aircraft lost their lives.
