KATHMANDU: Bangladeshi Minister of Information Hasanul Haq Inu claimed that the water management of Ganges-Brahmaputra-Meghna (GBM) river basin could solve the problems of poverty in Nepal, Bhutan, India and Bangladesh. Speaking at an interaction organised by the Reporters' Club in the Capital on Friday, Inu informed that the 80,000 MW energy, which could be produced in partnership in GBM river basin, could also reduce energy crisis of the neighbouring countries. Speaking in different a context, Inu informed that Nepal had earlier helped Bangladesh by providing weapons during the independence struggle and Bangladesh could never forget that. With the opening of Banglabandha-Phulbari road section and Port of Chittagong, economic, political and tourism sectors of Nepal and Bangladesh could be improved, suggested Inu. More than 7,000 Bangladeshi citizens visit Nepal every year.  However, the number would increase after the development of road infrastructures, further said Inu.
