KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress leaders and cadres have gathered at the City Hall for the voting process to elect new leadership during the party's 13th General Convention in Bhrikutimandap on Sunday. Altogether 312 candidates are vying for 64 positions, including three office bearers and Central Working Committee members. Out of 375 who had filed their candidacies, 63 candidates for CWC members had withdrawn their candidacies yesterday. The results of the election for the president are expected by late night today. If no presidential candidate can garner over 50 per cent votes, a run-off election will be held tomorrow. For other positions, however, polling the highest votes is enough to secure the seat.
