Nepali Congress presidential poll results expected by midnight

KATHMANDU: Results of election of the Nepali Congress (NC) president are expected to be published by tonight. The voting that began at 8:45 am today was expected to conclude at around 4 pm. Party acting President Ram Chandra Paudel, senior leader Sher Bahadur Deuba and General Secretary Krishna Prasad Sitaula are in the race for the party presidency and all of them expressed their confidence of own victory. The Election Committee has planned to unveil the poll results by the midnight today. As per the provision mentioned in the party statute, one has to garner over 50 per cent votes to win the election. Otherwise, a run-off election will be held between two candidates with highest votes to choose the new president. Party leaders Ram Chandra Paudel, Sher Bahadur Deuba and Krishna Prasad Sitaula are in the fray for the party's top position. READ ALSO:
