Defector Mansoor elected to CWC from Deuba panel

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress leader Farmullah Mansoor from the Sher Bahadur Deuba-led camp won the Central Working Committee membership election from the Muslim reservation category. With 1226 votes, he defeated other five contenders including his closest rival Mohammad Aftab Alam from Ram Chandra Paudel-led faction. Alam was restricted to 1044 votes. Other three contenders got below 110 votes. Mansoor had defected to the Deuba panel from the establishment side after Sita Devi Yadav was made the treasurer candidate. READ ALSO: 

Meanwhile, the Election Committee could not complete vote counting for the CWC members under the open category today also. The counting would resume tomorrow at the party headquarters in Sanepa of Lalitpur.
