KATHMANDU: The Britain Nepal Chamber of Commerce (BNCC) is in Kathmandu this week with 12 companies from the UK for business meetings and networking receptions. Chairman of BNCC Rajen Kandel and Chief Executive of BNCC Richard Pelly, are leading the delegation. The delegation has two major companies, Mabey Bridge, a manufacturer of rapid build, modular bridging, and Roughton International, a company of consulting engineers with international experience and specialist expertise in the transportation sector. There are three other companies that operate in the health sector and three nascent firms from Scotland, which develop cultural hubs, search out ethical supplies and commission films. One company is looking for products it can supply through its wholesale and retail business in the UK. Another is exploring ways to draw attention in the UK through its successful restaurant chain to Nepal’s beauty, creativity, hospitality and exceptional craft skills. There is also a company that operates in the education sector and another in the travel and tourism sector. Among the delegates there is interest in investment in Nepal in the education, health, hydropower and banking sectors.
