KATHMANDU: The World Wildlife Fund (WWF) is organising the 'Earth Hour 2016' against climate change effects in Basantapur, on Saturday. With the theme 'Shine a light on climate action', the WWF will be lighting 5,000 candles, positioned in the frame of 30 /30 feet, as the largest global movement against climate change. According to a statement released by the WWF Nepal today, the programme will kick off at 5 in the evening in front of the Juddha Barun Yantra Office. Similarly, a programme for slam poetry would also be held to spread the message regarding environment and climate change. The Earth Hour was launched in 2007 by the World Wildlife Fund, marked on the March 23 every year, to encourage awareness on environmental issues and Nepal also has been participating in the initiative for past five years.
