KATHMANDU: Former Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai-led Naya Shakti Nepal (NSN) on Wednesday registered itself as a political party at the Election Commission. Party's organisational department head Devendra Paudel confirmed the registration. 'We got approval as a party from the Election Commission today,' Paudel told THT Online over phone, 'We have submitted the name of 51 secretariat members.' Currently the secretariat is headed by Bhattarai as the coordinator and the NSN would update the Commission about the developments in the party organisation after its first national general convention which will be held within a couple of months, Paudel added. The party has registered a red flag with a white star at the centre as the party flag. Former Prime Minister Bhattarai, who was the second man of the UCPN-Maoist, had severed ties with the Maoist party on September 26 last year.
