Man dies after falling off cliff in Lamjung

LAMJUNG: A man died after falling off a cliff in Besishahar Municipality-8 of Lamjung district. The deceased has been identified as Som Bahadur Gurung, who appeared to be in his mid 40s, of Besishahar Municipality-15 and was living at Satbise of Besishahar Municipality-11. According to DSP Shambhu Prasad Dhakal, Gurung along with his two friends had headed towards Jyamire Gaun of Besisahar Municipality to install drinking water pipelines. Though two of Gurung's friends had reached the Jyamire Gaun on time, he did not reach there. Later, they started searching for Gurung and found him in a critical condition. During the investigation, police came to know that he fell of the cliff while heading towards Gyamire Gaun from Sittalpati, Besisahar Municipality-8. Critically injured Gurung was rushed to Besisahar for treatment but breathed his last on the way, police said. It has been learned that Gurung had consumed alcohol while he left his room for Gyamire Gaun. The body has been kept at the District Community Hospital in Lamjung for postmortem, DSP Dhakal said. The body would be handed over to his family members after conducting autopsy on Friday.
